日本的电器产品市场很大，日本的消费者对电器产品的安全性也非常重视。从2001年4月1日起，日本“电气产品控制法（DENTORI）”正式更名为“电气用品安全法（DENAE）”，统一使用PSE标志，并加强了对进口商的惩罚措施。
PSE（Product Safety of Electrical Appliance & Materials）认证（在日本称之为“适合性检查”）是日本电气用品的强制性市场准入制度，是日本《电气用品安全法》中规定的一项重要内容。目前，日本政府根据日本《电气用品安全法》中规定，将电气用品分为“特定电气用品”和“非特定电气用品”，其中“特定电器用品”包括115种产品；“非特定电气用品”包括338种产品。PSE包括EMC和安全两部分的要求。凡属于“特定电气用品”目录内的产品，进入日本市场，必须通过日本经济产业省授权的第三方认证机构认证，取得认证合格证书，并在标签上有菱形的PSE标志,如下图所示:
 CQC作为中国境内惟一申请日本PSE认证授权的认证机构，于2007年2月，将申请材料正式递交到了日本经济产业省。同年3月，日本经济产业省派出日本NITE机构评审专家PSE现场评审工作组对CQC进行了为期三天的现场审核，评审专家对CQC的规范化运作和严谨的工作态度表示非常赞叹，对工程师的技术水平和专业素养给与极高的评价，并认为CQC是世界一流的认证机构，现场评审更是没有发现任何不符合项或观察项，最终以“零缺陷”的结论通过了对CQC的审查。
2007年4月23日，日本经济产业省第129号公告发布，由日本经产省大臣签署命令，正式授权中国质量认证中心（英文缩写CQC）承担日本PSE强制性产品认证，至此，CQC成为继UL、TUV等国际知名认证机构之后第四家获日本政府授权的国外认证机构。
目前，CQC获得的日本PSE产品认证的产品类别范围为三大类：
电线电缆（包括20种产品）、配线器具（电器附件 |
